Huntingdon women’s basketball picks up first win of the season

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team picked up its first win of the season with a 67-49 win over Pensacola Christian on Tuesday.

The Lady Hawks led 32-26 at the half before pulling away.

"We played a lot better in the second half," Huntingdon head coach Buzz Phillips said. "We're a little thin inside with the loss of Jodi Montalvo for the season, but the girls were determined and played hard. I saw a lot of good things and overall we did a good job."

Katie Martin led the Lady Hawks (1-2) with 13 points, Patricia Pickens followed with 12 points and Morgan Crawford added 10 points. Tanjanik Munford pulled down 11 rebounds and Devin Douglas had nine rebounds.

Huntingdon plays its first home game of the season on Nov. 27, hosting Judson at 6 p.m.
