Huntingdon’s Crawford named GSAC Basketball Player of the Week

ATLANTA – Huntingdon senior Morgan Crawford was announced as the Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Crawford averaged 17.5 points, 8.5 assists, three rebounds and 2.5 steals in a pair of Huntingdon wins last week. She was 12-of-21 from the field and 5-of-10 from 3-point range.

In a 76-61 win over Salem, the 5-foot-6 guard finished with 17 points and nine assists. With the Lady Hawks trailing 54-52 in the final eight minutes, Crawford helped spark a 20-2 run to give Huntingdon a 16-point lead. Crawford scored 12 of the 20 points during the run.

Earlier in the week, Crawford recorded 18 points, eight assists and two steals in 20 minutes of playing time in a 107-67 win over Judson.

Huntingdon (12-9, 5-2 GSAC) returns to action on Saturday, hosting Covenant at 1 p.m.
