Lady Hawks improve to 2-0 with win at Oglethorpe

ATLANTA – Three Huntingdon players combined for 54 points as the Lady Hawks downed Oglethorpe 77-57 on Saturday.

Junior Pat Pickens led Huntingdon with 20 points, freshman Mackenzie Garmany followed with 19 points and junior Tan Munford added 15 points. Munford pulled down 12 rebounds for her second double-double in as many games.

Pickens also had six rebounds and four steals and sophomore Kali Martin finished with seven rebounds.

Huntingdon (2-0) set the tone early, taking a 13-2 lead early in the game and building a 35-18 lead at halftime. Oglethorpe (1-2) pulled within nine points midway through the second half before the Lady Hawks pulled away for good.

Leading 50-41, Mary Englebert hit a 3-pointer, Pickens made a layup, Munford added a pair of free throws and Garmany hit back-to-back 3-pointers to turn a nine-point game into a 17-point game in a little more than three minutes.

Huntingdon returns to action on Dec. 7 at Roland Arena against Wesleyan.
