Huntingdon women’s basketball ends season at LaGrange

LaGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team rallied from a first-half deficit but fell to LaGrange 68-54 on Sunday.

LaGrange (15-10, 9-7 USA South) advances to the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament. Huntingdon ends its season at 15-10 overall and 7-9 in the USA South.

Huntingdon overcame a 19-point deficit in the first half and pulled within two points, 48-46, with 9:14 to play in the game. But the Panthers used a 10-2 run during the next six minutes to ease back ahead. LaGrange sank 10-of-13 free throws in the final two minutes to seal the game.

Senior Raven Prater led Huntingdon with 11 points and seven rebounds. Prater ends her career as the Lady Hawks' fifth leading scorer during the NCAA era with 919 points. She is the Lady Hawks' career-leader in 3-pointers with 152 made.

Junior Pat Pickens added 10 points and five rebounds and finished the season with a program record 424 points. With one season to play, Pickens has 976 career points and is Huntingdon's third leading scorer during the NCAA era.

Arbanee Dean pulled down 11 rebounds and set a Lady Hawks' record with seven blocks in the game, breaking the mark of five held by Dean, Tiffany Jordan and Dusti Doss. Tan Munford added nine rebounds and eight points, giving her a program-record 267 rebounds this season.
