Huntingdon falls to Avenging Angels

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team fell behind in the first half and could not find an answer for Meredith College in a 78-58 loss on Sunday.

The Avenging Angels (4-6, 3-1 USA South) built a 13-point lead in the first half and led 40-27 at halftime. Huntingdon (6-5, 2-2 USA South) pulled within six points in the first five minutes of the second half before Meredith pulled back ahead by 13 points with 8:49 to play.

The Lady Hawks made one more push and pulled within seven points, 60-53, with 5:36 left, but Meredith answered and closed the game with an 18-5 run.

Pat Pickens was the only Huntingdon player in double figures with 12 points. Mackenzie Garmany added nine points and Juliette Harp had eight points and six rebounds. Tan Munford pulled down 14 rebounds and Savannah Ward had five assists.

Huntingdon returns to action at home on Wednesday, hosting Judson at 6 p.m.
