Lady Hawks take control early against Wesleyan

MACON, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team picked up its 10th win of the season with a 74-39 win over Wesleyan College on Wednesday.

The Lady Hawks (10-9) jumped out to a 22-4 lead in the first half and were never threatened. Huntingdon extended its lead in the second half.

Senior Pat Pickens led Huntingdon with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Sophomore Mackenzie Garmany added 15 points and senior Tan Munford recorded her second straight double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Munford, who is Huntingdon's second-leading rebounder during the NCAA era, now has 818 career rebounds. Former Huntingdon player Tiffany Jordan holds the program record with 863 rebounds.

Juliette Harp pulled down nine rebounds against Wesleyan (1-13) and Jello Weatherspoon had six assists.

Huntingdon hosts Piedmont on Saturday at 4 p.m.
