Lady Hawks power past Battling Bishops

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team earned its second conference win this weekend, defeating N.C. Wesleyan 71-57 on Sunday.

The Lady Hawks (9-9, 4-7 USA South) battled N.C. Wesleyan closely throughout the first half and took their final lead of the game with 2:44 left in the first quarter.

Huntingdon took a six point lead into halftime and started the second half with a 14-5 run. The Lady Hawks built a 17 point lead with 3:13 remaining in the third.

Mackenzie Garmany led all scorers with 25 points. Garmany went 6-of-9 from 3-point range and finished with seven rebounds.

Juliette Harp added her 13th double-double this season with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Harp added six blocks to add to her conference best 52 blocks. Harp also leads the conference with 12.2 rebounds per game.

Senior Savannah Ward scored 13 points and finished with five assists.

Huntingdon hosts conference opponent Maryville College on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
