MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team used a 21 point fourth quarter to earn a 69-61 win over Covenant on Saturday.

The Lady Hawks improve to 11-3 on the season and 4-1 in the USA South Athletic Conference. Covenant falls to 6-8 and 0-4 in the conference.

The Lady Hawks took the game's first lead and went ahead 9-2 in the opening minutes. The Scots stormed back and took a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. Huntingdon never trailed by more than five in the second quarter and played Covenant to a 30-30 tie at halftime.

The Scots opened the second-half with a 10-0 and took their largest lead of the game, 40-30, with 8:03 remaining in the quarter. The Lady Hawks closed the gap and trailed 53-48 at the end of the third quarter.

Huntingdon started to make its comeback off a Jenna Dorman 3-pointer in the first 32 seconds of the fourth quarter and a Jello Weatherspoon layup to tie the game 53-53. Huntingdon would use a 16-8 run to close out the game and take the win.

"It was an eventful weekend," head coach Buzz Phillips said. "I thought we let our guard down in the beginning of the game and they were able to pull ahead by 10 in the third quarter, which I think we responded well to. We won this game because of our defense. It was a good win for the girls."

T.I. Duncan just missed out on a triple-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Freshman Keturah Billen recorded her first collegiate double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Weatherspoon finished with 14 points and Dorman scored 10 points and seven rebounds. Juliette Harp scored 13 points and recorded six rebounds.

The Lady Hawks travel to Piedmont on Saturday for a 1 p.m. conference matchup.
