Hill and Dorman lead Lady Hawks past Rust

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Freshman Maia Hill scored a career-high 19 points while senior Jenna Dorman added 18 points to lead the Huntingdon women's basketball team past Rust 66-48 on Wednesday night in Roland Arena.

Rust (1-17) opened the game with a 9-3 lead, but the Lady Hawks (13-4) answered back and took a 17-15 lead after the first quarter.

Both teams battled close in the low-scoring second quarter, but Huntingdon took a two point advantage into halftime, leading 25-23.

The Lady Hawks used a strong second-half to take control of the game. Huntingdon pulled ahead by 15 late in the third and maintained the lead for the remainder of the game.

Juliette Harp recorded 18 rebounds, one shy of her career-high. Dorman added eight rebounds and three steals.

T.I. Duncan turned in nine points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Huntingdon returns to USA South Athletic Conference action on Friday as they travel to Covenant for a 6:30 p.m. matchup.
