Lady Hawks take win at Agnes Scott

DECATUR, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team defeated Agnes Scott 66-45 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Hawks improve to 18-6 on the season and 9-4 in the USA South Athletic Conference, ranking them tied for third with LaGrange in the West Division. Agnes Scott falls to 2-17 and 1-12 in the conference.

Huntingdon started the game off quick, jumping out to a 20-4 lead after the first quarter. The Scotties were able to find some rhythm in the second quarter and scored 13 points while Huntingdon put up 16 points. The Lady Hawks led 36-17 at halftime.

Huntingdon held a 20 point lead throughout the third quarter and led by 28 with 44 seconds left in the quarter.

Agnes battled hard in the final quarter and cut the lead to 17 points with a 1:28 left, but the lead was too much as the Lady Hawks took their second win over the Scotties this season.

Juliette Harp led Huntingdon with 17 points and 13 rebounds and added three blocks. Maia Hill scored 14 points and had three assists and four steals. Hill finished 4-for-7 from the 3-point line. 

Jello Weatherspoon finished with eight points, three assists and three steals while T.I. Duncan added eight rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Hawks close out their regular season on Sunday at Wesleyan. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
