Lady Hawks fall to West Division co-leader Piedmont

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team matched Piedmont College for 35 minutes on Saturday before falling behind in the final five minutes of an 82-67 loss.

Huntingdon (10-3, 4-2 USA South) trailed 63-60, with a little more than five minutes to play before Piedmont (11-3, 5-0 USA South), the USA South West Division co-leader, pulled ahead. The Lions took a 10-point lead with a little less than three minutes to play and closed out the game.

Keturah Billen scored a career-high 19 points and had a team-high nine rebounds and three steals for Huntingdon. T.I. Duncan added 13 points, six rebounds and four assists, Shaonica Thomas followed with 10 points and Kassidy Crawford had nine points.  

                             

Records: Huntingdon (10-3, 4-2 USA South); Piedmont (11-3, 5-0 USA South)             

 

Notable: Two conference losses separate the top four teams in the West Division of the USA South Athletic Conference this season. Piedmont (5-0) and Berea (5-0) are tied for first in the West Division, followed by Maryville (3-1) and Huntingdon (4-2).
