Duncan and Thomas recognized with release of All-Conference awards

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon senior T.I. Duncan and junior Shaonica Thomas were both recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference on Thursday with the release of the women's basketball All-Conference awards.

Duncan was named first-team All-Conference and first-team West Division and Thomas was a second-team West Division selection. Duncan was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

Duncan is averaging 15.1 points, seven rebounds, three assists and 2.2 steals per game this season. She leads Huntingdon in scoring, rebounding and steals and is second on the team in assists. She is eighth in the conference in points per game, fifth in steals and tied for seventh in assists and third in the conference in field-goal percentage (55 percent) this season.

Thomas is Huntingdon's second leading scorer and rebounder this season with 12 points and five rebounds per game and leads the USA South with a 58.8 field-goal percentage. She also has 24 steals, 12 assists and six blocks.

Huntingdon (21-4) will play at Greensboro on Saturday in the USA South Tournament quarterfinals. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. (Central).

Piedmont's Amari Price was named Player of the Year and Mary Baldwin's Leah Calhoun was named Rookie of the Year. Mary Baldwin's Ross James was named Coach of the Year.
