Huntingdon women’s golf in fifth after Round 1

CLARKESVILLE, Ga. – Saem Hur shot a 79 to lead the Huntingdon women in the first round of the Piedmont Fall Invitational on Monday.

With one round to play on Tuesday at The Orchard Golf & Country Club, Huntingdon is in fifth with a team score of 340. Four-time defending tournament champion Methodist University leads the field at 313. Host Piedmont College is second at 317, Coastal Georgia is third at 321 and Tennessee Wesleyan is fourth at 329.

Hur's 79 is tied for ninth individually. The sophomore is three strokes out of first place. Coastal Georgia's Christian Liggin leads the field at 76.

In addition to Hur, two other Huntingdon golfers are within 10 strokes of first place. Ali Hamil is tied for 19th at 84 and Kaitlin Rozof is tied for 22nd at 85. Alex Foster finished 16 strokes back at 92.
