Lady Hawks finish 9th in Rome News-Tribune Invitational

ROME, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot a two-round total of 709 to finish ninth in the Rome News-Tribune Invitational. In their first competition of the spring, the Lady Hawks shot 354 on Monday and 355 on Tuesday at the Coosa Country Club.

Lee University won the tournament with a score of 615, Shorter was second at 633 and University of the Cumberlands was third at 636. Lee University's Courtney Shelton shot 147 to earn medalist honors. Shelton shot 1-over par 73 on Monday and 2-over 74 in the final round.

Huntingdon junior Saem Hur finished 10 strokes behind Shelton and tied for 10th with a 157. Senior Ali Hamil shot 168, freshman Sydney Robbins shot 179, freshman Jessie Culey shot 205 and freshman Shay Roberson shot 218.

Huntingdon returns to action on March 15 in the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate.
