Lady Hawks two strokes out of 1st in DePauw Small College Classic

CLAYTON, Ind. – The Huntingdon women's golf team opened the DePauw Small College Classic with a 325 on Saturday.

Entering the final round at the Deer Creek Golf Club on Sunday, the Lady Hawks are in third place and two strokes out of first. Wittenberg and Washington University-St. Louis are tied for first at 323. Fourth-place Carthage College is one stroke behind Huntingdon at 326.

"I'm really proud of the girls' effort today. We fought through some very windy conditions and are in a great position for Sunday," Huntingdon assistant coach Ashley Aguilera said. "We're two shots off the lead and these girls want to finish strong and earn their second win of the season."

Sophomore Savannah Humber led Huntingdon with an 80 in the first round. She is five strokes off the lead and tied for eighth. Washington University-St. Louis' Olivia Lugar leads the field with a 75.

Sophomore Courtney Harville is tied for 11th at 81 and sophomore LeeAnn Cahoon and freshman Lindsey Huff each shot 82 and are tied for 16th. Freshman Kelsey Spivey shot 87 in the opening round.
