Cahoon earns WGCA All-American and All-Region honors
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Sophomore LeeAnn Cahoon received All-American and All-Region recognition on Wednesday at the Women's Golf Coaches Association Division III Awards Banquet.
With the release of the awards Wednesday night, Cahoon was named second-team All-American and first-team All-Region in the East Region. She is the first Lady Hawk to earn WGCA All-American honors.
"This has been a record-setting season for LeeAnn," Huntingdon assistant coach Ashley Aguilera said. "She has worked hard to get where she is today and it shows in her accomplishments. This season's success is just a preview of how successful her golf career will be. LeeAnn has a tremendous amount of potential and talent and I know it will take her to great heights."
Cahoon is currently competing in the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships and is the first Lady Hawk to qualify for the national tournament. She entered the tournament ranked 14th in Division III with an average score of 77 per round. In 22 rounds since the fall, she has turned in the top four rounds in program history and seven of the Lady Hawks' top 11 rounds.
"LeeAnn has had a tremendous year. She has proven throughout the year that she possesses the skills and she seems to get better every week," Huntingdon Director of Golf Dave Schreyer said. "We are really excited for what is in store for LeeAnn over the remainder of her collegiate career."
