Lady Hawks in 4th after Rd. 1 of Callaway Women’s Invitational

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team opened the spring season with a 326 on Monday in the first round of the Callaway Women's Invitational.

The Lady Hawks are in fourth in the 16-team field entering Tuesday's final round. Rhodes College leads the field at 308, the University of the Cumberlands is second at 317 and the University of South Carolina Beaufort is third at 321.

Freshman Hallie Rice and sophomore Kelsey Spivey each shot 80 to lead Huntingdon. Junior LeeAnn Cahoon shot 82, junior Courtney Harville shot 84 and freshman Katelyn Gilmore shot 87.

Playing as individuals, sophomore Lindsey Huff shot 89 and senior Shay Roberson shot 90.

South Carolina Beaufort's Franzi Knoetsch turned in the best round on Monday with a 2-over-par 73.
