Lady Hawks in 8th after Rd. 1 of Division III National Preview

HOUSTON – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 337 in the first round of the Division III National Preview on Monday.

The Lady Hawks are in eighth in the 13-team field entering Tuesday's final round at Bay Oaks Golf and Country Club. The University of Texas-Tyler leads the tournament with a score of 304, New York University is second at 321 and Wittenberg is third at 330.

Texas-Tyler's Amy Cox turned in Monday's best round with a 1-over-par 73. Huntingdon freshman Hallie Rice is five strokes off the lead and tied for fifth with a 78.

Behind Rice, junior Courtney Harville shot an 84 and is tied for 22nd and junior LeeAnn Cahoon shot an 85 and is tied for 31st. Sophomore Kelsey Spivey and freshman Katelyn Gilmore each shot 90.
