Rice leads Lady Hawks in Rd. 1 of IWU Spring Blast

JOLIET, Ill. – Freshman Hallie Rice shot a 4-over-par 76 on Saturday to lead the 13th-ranked Huntingdon women's golf team in the IWU Spring Blast Invitational.

Entering Sunday's final round at Ironwood Golf Course, Rice is four strokes off the lead and tied for 10th. Grinnell College's Vidushi Sinha leads the field with an even-par 72.

Huntingdon shot 319 in the opening round and is 17 strokes out of first. Illinois Wesleyan leads the tournament with a 14-over 302. NAIA Indiana Tech is second at 307. Eleventh-ranked DePauw University is third at 312.

Behind Rice, junior LeeAnn Cahoon shot 78 and is tied for 20th. Junior Courtney Harville shot an 82, followed by sophomore Kelsey Spivey with an 83 and freshman Katelyn Gilmore with an 86.
