Lady Hawks tie for 7th in IWU Spring Blast

JOLIET, Ill. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shaved eight strokes off its first-round total and finished tied for seventh in the IWU Spring Blast Invitational on Sunday.

The 13th-ranked Lady Hawks shot 311 in the final round and finished with a two-round total of 630. Indiana Tech and Illinois Wesleyan each shot 614 to lead the field. Indiana Tech won the scorecard playoff. Eleventh-ranked DePauw University was third with a 619.

Grinnell College's Vrishali Sinha was the tournament medalist with an even-par 144. Freshman Hallie Rice led Huntingdon with a 36-hole total of 154 and finished 17th.

Sophomore Kelsey Spivey shot a 4-over 76 in the final round and tied for 28th with a two-round 159. Junior LeeAnn Cahoon shot 160, junior Courtney Harville shot 161 and freshman Katelyn Gilmore shot 164.
