Lady Hawks in 2nd entering final round of MCC Intercollegiate

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 311 in the opening round of the Montgomery Country Club Women's Intercollegiate on Sunday.

Entering Monday's final round, the Lady Hawks are five strokes out of first and in second behind defending national champion Rhodes College. The Lynx shot 306 to lead the 12-team field.

Four Lady Hawks are in the top-15 and within eight strokes of first entering the final round. Huntingdon senior LeeAnn Cahoon is in third with a 3-over-par 76 and sophomore Katelyn Gilmore is tied for fourth with a 4-over 77.

Sophomore Hallie Rice and junior Kelsey Spivey each shot 6-over 79 and are tied for 15th. Senior Courtney Harville is two strokes behind Spivey and Rice with an 81.

Rhodes' Mackenzie Cohen led the field with a 2-under 71 on Sunday. Trinity's Hanna Niner shot a 1-under 72 and is in second.

The Huntingdon B-Team shot 362 and is in 11th. Freshman Hannah Amburn led the B-Team with an 84 and freshman Madi DeWees shot 88. Junior Lindsey Huff shot 89, freshman Morgan Herfindahl shot 101 and freshman Lexa Marchese shot 109.
