Lady Hawks open spring season in Callaway Gardens Invitational

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 340 in the opening round of the Callaway Gardens Invitational on Monday.

The 13th-ranked Lady Hawks are in 12th entering Tuesday's final round. Sixteenth-ranked Methodist University leads the 14-team tournament with a 6-over-par 298. Rhodes College is second with a 302 and 11th-ranked Washington and Lee is third with a 303.

Freshman Olivia Hickson shot an 82 to lead Huntingdon and is tied for 34th. Sophomore Madi DeWees shot 85, junior Katelyn Gilmore shot 86 and junior Vanessa Leiterman and freshman Anna Beth Harris each shot 87.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Lexa Marchese shot 97.

Methodist's Johnna Beehner leads the tournament with a 7-under 66.
