Lady Hawks climb one spot in Jekyll Island Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 312 in the second round of the Jekyll Island Invitational on Saturday.  

The 16th-ranked Lady Hawks shaved 20 strokes off their first-round total and are 13th with a 644 entering Sunday's final round.

In a 23-team field that includes six top-10 teams and a total of 12 top-25 teams, fourth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is in first with a two-round 603 and 17th-ranked Whitman College is second with a 614.

Freshman Olivia Hickson led Huntingdon with a 3-over-par 75 in the second round and is tied for 26th with a 157. Junior Vanessa Leiterman is one stroke behind Hickson at 158 and junior Katelyn Gilmore is two strokes behind Hickson with a 159.

Sophomore Madi DeWees is at 170 after two rounds and freshman Anna Beth Harris has a two-round 177.

Whitman College's Phoebe Nguyen leads the field with a 5-under 139.
