Hickson and Leiterman lead Lady Hawks in Rd. 1 of Sewanee Spring Invitational

DICKSON, Tenn. – Two Huntingdon women's golfers are in the top-5 and the women's golf team is fourth after the first round of the Sewanee Spring Invitational.

Entering Monday's final round at Greystone Golf Club, the Lady Hawks are three strokes out of first with a 323. Berry College and Sewanee are tied for the tournament lead at 320 and Oglethorpe is third at 321.

Freshman Olivia Hickson is two strokes out of first and tied for third with a 4-over-par 77 and junior Vanessa Leiterman is three strokes off the lead and tied for fifth with a 5-over 78. Oglethorpe's Angel Sanchez and Sewanee's Meghan Symonds each shot 2-over 75 to lead the field in the first round.   

Behind Hickson and Leiterman, junior Katelyn Gilmore shot 82 in the first round, sophomore Madi DeWees shot 86 and freshman Anna Beth Harris shot 90.

 

Coming Up: Huntingdon will play in the final round of the Sewanee Spring Invitational on Monday.
