Huntingdon ties for 2nd in IWU Spring Fling

NORMAL, Ill. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 325 in the final round of the IWU Spring Fling and tied for second on Sunday.

The Lady Hawks finished with a two-round 639 to tie with DePauw University. Illinois Wesleyan won the 16-team tournament with a 629. Illinois Wesleyan shot the best round on Sunday with a 320.

Illinois Wesleyan's Rylie Loux was the tournament medalist with an 8-over-par 152 in two rounds. Huntingdon junior Katelyn Gilmore finished four strokes out of first and tied for fifth with a 12-over 156. Gilmore led the Lady Hawks with a 6-over 78 in the final round.

Behind Gilmore, junior Vanessa Leiterman tied for sixth with a 13-over 157 and sophomore Madi DeWees tied for 17th with a two-round 161.  Freshman Olivia Hickson finished with a two-round 168 and freshman Anna Beth Harris shot 171 for the tournament.
