Huntingdon tied for 4th after Rd. 1 of Washington and Lee Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 312 in the first round of the Washington and Lee Invitational on Sunday.

Entering Monday's final round at the Lexington Golf and Country Club, the 24th-ranked Lady Hawks are tied for fourth in the 11-team field.

Sixteenth-ranked Carnegie Mellon leads the tournament with a 12-over-par 300. Seventh-ranked New York University is second with a 14-over 302 and Oglethorpe is third at 22-over 310.

Centre's Bailey Plourde turned in Sunday's best round and leads the field with a 1-under 71.

Huntingdon senior Vanessa Leiterman is three strokes off the lead and tied for seventh with a 2-over 74. Senior Katelyn Gilmore is four strokes behind Leiterman and tied for 20th with a 6-over 78.  

Junior Madi DeWees and sophomore Anna Beth Harris each shot 8-over 80 and are tied for 31st and freshman Debra Ann Burdeshaw shot an 87.

 

Coming Up: Huntingdon will play in the final round of the Washington and Lee Invitational on Monday.
