Gilmore and Leiterman lead Huntingdon in Rd. 2 of Golfweek DIII Invitational
SANDESTIN, Fla. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 325 in the second round of the Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational on Monday.
Entering Tuesday's final round at the Baytowne Golf Club, the 24th-ranked Lady Hawks are 10th with a two-round 644. The 18-team tournament includes 11 nationally ranked teams.
Sixth-ranked Rhodes leads the tournament with a two-round 617. Sixteenth-ranked Carnegie Mellon is second with a 629.
Berry College's Karley Hammond leads the tournament through two rounds with a 4-over 148.
Huntingdon seniors Vanessa Leiterman and Katelyn Gilmore lead the Lady Hawks after two rounds. Leiterman is seven strokes off the lead and tied for 13th with a 155. Gilmore is nine strokes out of first and tied for 17th with a 157. Gilmore shot Huntingdon's best round on Monday with a 78.
Behind the two seniors, sophomore Anna Beth Harris has a two-round 167, junior Madi DeWees has a two-round 169 and freshman Debra Ann Burdeshaw has a two-round 170.
Playing as an individual, freshman Abigail Cody has a two-round 189.
