Women’s golf tied for 7th after Rd. 2 of Jekyll Island Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 324 on Saturday in the second round of the Jekyll Island Invitational.

Entering Sunday's final round, the Lady Hawks are tied for seventh at 642. Eighth-ranked New York University leads the 21-team tournament with a 30-over-par 606 and 15th-ranked Carnegie Mellon is second at 609.

Senior Vanessa Leiterman led Huntingdon with a 3-over 75 in the second round and is in eighth with a two-round 152. New York University's Navika Kuchakulla leads the tournament with a 1-over 145.

Behind Leiterman, senior Katelyn Gilmore is tied for 27th with a two-round 158 and freshman Debra Ann Burdeshaw is tied for 38th with a 161. Junior Madi DeWees and freshman Abigail Cody each have a two-round 174.

 

Coming Up: Huntingdon will play in the final round of the Jekyll Island Invitational on Sunday.
