Burdeshaw’s 74 leads Lady Hawks in MCC Women’s Intercollegiate

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Sophomore Debra Ann Burdeshaw shot a career-best 2-over-par 74 to lead the Huntingdon women's golf team in the opening round of the Montgomery Country Club Women's Intercollegiate on Saturday.

Entering Sunday's final round, Burdeshaw is five strokes out of first and tied for sixth. Centre College's Bailey Plourde and Rylee Suttor are tied for first at 3-under 69.

As a team, Huntingdon shot 324 in the first round and is eighth. Centre College leads the 12-team field with a 6-over 294. Thirteenth-ranked Washington and Lee is second at 14-over 302.

Behind Burdeshaw, sophomore Abigail Cody shot 80 and is tied for 23rd. Senior Madi DeWees and freshman Emma Cox each shot 85 and junior Anna Beth Harris shot 86.

Playing as an individual, freshman Jasmine Paynter shot 94.     

 

Coming Up: Huntingdon will play in the final round of the Montgomery Country Club Women's Intercollegiate on Sunday.
