McDonald able to pursue her goals at Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – When the Huntingdon College women's lacrosse team made its debut in February, few people were as excited as junior goalie Alexis McDonald. There was the obvious excitement of winning the first game in program history. But beyond that, McDonald was excited that her wait was over. After what felt like an eternity, the Lady Hawks' first recruit was once again playing the sport she loved.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second half and beat Birmingham-Southern 13-12 on Saturday. The first-year Lady Hawks (7-5) scored three goals in the final 17 minutes to down the fifth-year Panthers. Jen Price scored twice in a three-minute span to tie the game and then made an assist to Kalyn Spatol on the go-ahead goal with 6:54 to play.

FERRUM, Va. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team couldn't find an answer for Ferrum in a 17-6 loss on Thursday. First-year Huntingdon (4-4) only trailed by three goals with two minutes to play in the first half. But the Panthers (8-3) scored twice in the final two minutes of the half and four times in the first 10 minutes of the second half to pull away.

ATLANTA – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team took a seven-goal lead in the first half, held off a mid-game rally by Oglethorpe and picked up a 21-9 win on Monday. Huntingdon built a 10-3 lead in the first half but only led 12-8 early in the second half. The first-year Lady Hawks (4-1) put the game away by outscoring the Stormy Petrels 9-1 in the final 26 minutes.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Shannen O'Leary scored seven goals and was one of seven players to score as the Huntingdon women's lacrosse team handled Reinhardt University 26-16 on Wednesday. The first-year Lady Hawks (3-1) scored four goals in the first four minutes of the game, led 13-9 at the half and led by as many as 11 goals in the game.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team may have been a little nervous Saturday morning, but it didn't show. The Lady Hawks scored nine goals in the first 20 minutes of the game and downed the University of Dallas 20-11 in Huntingdon's first women's lacrosse game. Huntingdon jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the first half and led 13-5 at halftime.
