Huntingdon women’s lacrosse falls to Berry

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team battled Berry but came up short 22-16 on Wednesday.

The first-year Huntingdon program led the third-year Vikings by as many as three goals in the first half and led 10-9 at halftime. Berry took the lead early in the second half and led for the final 26 minutes of the game.

The Lady Hawks (7-6) remained within striking distance and cut Berry's lead to 18-16 on a Jen Price goal with a little more than four minutes to play. But the Vikings (6-6) answered with four goals to close the game.

Price led the Lady Hawks with six goals, two assists and six ground balls and Jamie Reschke added four goals, six ground balls and four draw controls. Briana Gress scored two goals and had five draw controls and Candace Williams scored two goals. Shannen O'Leary finished with one goal and five draw controls.

Huntingdon plays at Transylvania on Friday at 4 p.m.
