Huntingdon women’s lacrosse falls at Reinhardt

WALESKA, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team fell behind early and couldn't overcome the deficit in a 17-16 loss to Reinhardt on Tuesday.

Reinhardt, a NAIA team, took an 8-1 lead in the first half before the Lady Hawks (1-1) rallied late in the first half. Huntingdon pulled within three goals twice before halftime and trailed 10-6 at the half.

In the second half, Reinhardt (3-1) eased ahead to a 16-9 lead in the first 14 minutes. Huntingdon scored seven goals in the final 16 minutes, including two in the final minute, but came up a goal short.

Shannen O'Leary led Huntingdon with four goals, four assists and six ground balls and Kalyn Spatol also scored four goals. Jamie Reschke had three goals and an assist, Lonnitria Keenan had three goals, Briana Gress scored one goal and recorded nine ground balls and Jen Price finished with one goal.

Tori Krupa caused three turnovers and goalie Alexis McDonald finished with 13 saves.

Huntingdon travels to Sewanee on Sunday for a 1 p.m. game.
