Huntingdon women’s lacrosse loses at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team scored five goals in the second half but came up short to Greensboro College 13-7 on Sunday.

Greensboro (3-3, 2-1 USA South), which was ranked second in the conference preseason poll, built a 9-2 lead at the half and led by as many as nine goals early in the second half. Huntingdon (3-4, 1-2 USA South) pulled within five goals late in the game but could not overtake the Pride.

Jen Price led Huntingdon with three goals, an assist and three ground balls. Sam Baker scored two goals, Kalyn Spatol had a goal and an assist and Candace Williams scored one goal. Lonnitria Keenan finished with two assists and Briana Gress had five draw controls.

Goalie Alexis McDonald recorded 15 saves, five ground balls and caused three turnovers.

Huntingdon plays at Ferrum on Monday at 1 p.m. The game was postponed from Saturday due to weather.
