Huntingdon women’s lacrosse wins fourth straight

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team scored 13 goals in the first half and cruised to an 18-6 win over Agnes Scott on Friday night.

On a night when the Lady Hawks recognized seniors Sam Havel, Alexis McDonald and Kalyn Spatol, Huntingdon picked up its fourth straight win. The victory gives the second-year Lady Hawks their longest winning streak.

Lonnitria Keenan led Huntingdon (7-5, 4-3 USA South) with six goals on seven shots and had an assist as nine different players scored for the Lady Hawks. Keenan is just the fifth Lady Hawk to score at least six goals in a game.

Shannen O'Leary set the program record with seven goals against Reinhardt in 2013. Keenan, Jen Price (against Berry in 2013), Jamie Reschke (against Transylvania in 2013) and Spatol (against N.C. Wesleyan this season) have each scored six goals in a game.

Briana Gress and O'Leary each scored three goals on Friday. O'Leary also had two caused turnovers. Candace Williams, Price and Sam Baker each had a goal and an assist and Reschke and Kate Heinrichs each scored one goal. Price added seven draw controls and five ground balls and Reschke had two caused turnovers and seven ground balls.

McDonald, who has started at goalie in 25 of Huntingdon's 26 career games, saw action in the field during the second half Friday and scored her first goal as a Hawk.

McDonald leads the USA South in save percentage (49.8 percent) and recorded three saves and allowed one goal in a little more than a half. Freshman Tori Krupa finished the game at goalie.

Huntingdon returns to action on Saturday at noon, hosting conference leader Piedmont (12-2, 7-0 USA South).
