Huntingdon women’s lacrosse falls to conference leader Piedmont

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team couldn't find an answer for Piedmont in a 19-6 loss on Saturday.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the second-year Lady Hawks.

Huntingdon (7-6) closed out conference play with a 4-4 record and is fifth in the USA South Athletic Conference standings. The top six teams qualify for the conference tournament. Piedmont (13-2) claimed the regular-season conference title with an 8-0 record.

Jen Price, Lonnitria Keenan and Jamie Reschke each scored two goals for Huntingdon. Price added six ground balls and Keenan had an assist. Kalyn Spatol had four draw controls.

Goalie Alexis McDonald finished with 11 saves, 19 goals allowed and seven ground balls. McDonald leads the USA South in save percentage at 48.5 percent and is second with 143 saves.

Huntingdon travels to Berry on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. game.
