Lady Hawks lose lacrosse conference opener

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team lost to Meredith 20-5 on Sunday in the Lady Hawks' USA South opener.

Meredith (3-2, 2-0 USA South) is the defending USA South Athletic Conference Tournament champion and was ranked No. 1 in the conference preseason poll.

Candace Williams had two goals, two ground balls and three caused turnovers for Huntingdon (0-6, 0-1 USA South). Jamie Reschke, Jen Price and Briana Gress each scored one goal. Price also had three ground balls. Lonnitria Keenan had one assist.

Goalie Victoria Krupa had nine saves, 20 goals allowed and four ground balls.

Huntingdon hosts Ferrum on Saturday at 11 a.m.
