Lady Hawks can’t hold off Birmingham-Southern

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team started strong on Tuesday but Birmingham-Southern rallied in the second half for a 14-12 win.

The Lady Hawks built an 8-2 lead in the first half and led 11-6 early in the second half before the Panthers (2-7) gained momentum. Birmingham-Southern scored eight second-half goals and took the lead for good with 15:16 to play in the game.

Lonnitria Keenan led Huntingdon (1-13) with four goals and was 2-for-3 on free-position shots. Jamie Reschke, Shannen O'Leary and Briana Gress each scored two goals and Jen Price and Carolyn Smith each had one goal.

O'Leary and Price each had an assist and two caused turnovers. Price also had a team-high six ground balls. Candace Williams finished with six draw controls and four ground balls.

Goalie Victoria Krupa finished with 11 saves and 14 goals allowed.

Huntingdon closes its season at home on April 14th against Berry at 7 p.m.
