Women’s lacrosse sixth in USA South preseason poll

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The fourth-year Huntingdon women's lacrosse team is ranked sixth in the USA South Athletic Conference preseason poll released on Wednesday.

Huntingdon picked up 14 points in the preseason poll. Two-time defending conference tournament champion Meredith is the preseason favorite with five first-place votes and 35 points. Piedmont, the 2014 and 2015 conference regular-season champion, is second with two first-place votes and 32 points.

Greensboro is third with 24 points, followed by Ferrum in fourth with 19 points and Methodist in fifth with 17 points. Behind Huntingdon, LaGrange is seventh with six points.

Huntingdon opens the season on Feb. 13 at home against Hendrix at 10 a.m.
