Lady Hawks fall in season opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team lost to Hendrix College 12-10 on Saturday.

Freshman Jade Paul scored the game's first two goals in the opening 2:21 of play for Huntingdon. The Warriors answered back with three straight goals to take the early lead.

Both teams traded goals for the remainder of the game before Huntingdon (0-1) took the lead with 23:11 remaining in the game.

Hendrix (1-1) went on the score the game's final three goals to close out the win.

Seniors Shannen O'Leary and Lonnitria Keenan each scored two goals and had two assists.

Paul finished with two goals, four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Jen Price netted two goals, picked up three ground balls and had three draw controls.

Briana Gress had one goal and one assist while Ariana Kelty had one goal.

The Lady Hawks will play at Rhodes tomorrow at 3 p.m.
