Lady Hawks dominate in win over LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team scored 10 goals in the second half to pick up its sixth win of the season in Saturday's 15-6 win over LaGrange.

Huntingdon closed out its conference schedule with the win and improves to 6-8 on the season. The Lady Hawks finished 2-4 in the USA South Athletic Conference and close their season out on Sunday at Sewanee at 1 p.m.

Shannen O'Leary had a game-high eight points with five goals and three assists and scooped up four ground balls while Jen Price and Lonnitria Keenan each scored four goals.

Leading 5-2 at halftime, Jade Paul and O'Leary opened the second half with a pair of goals to go ahead 7-2 before LaGrange answered back. The Lady Hawks then used a 6-0 run midway through the second half to take a 13-3 lead with 15:26 remaining. Price, Keenan and O'Leary combined for the six goals.

Briana Gress scored her first goal with 8:01 remaining to give Huntingdon a 10 point lead before LaGrange scored twice. Keenan scored the game's final goal with 35 seconds left.

Victoria Krupa recorded seven saves while allowing six goals.

Price added one assist, three ground balls, two draw controls and four caused turnovers. Paul and Gress each had one goal and one assist with Gress taking five draw controls.
