Women’s lacrosse closes season at Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team closed its season with a 19-6 loss at Sewanee on Sunday.

Huntingdon (6-9) scored four goals in the first half and only trailed by three goals with 3:16 left in the first half. Sewanee (6-9) took an 8-4 lead into halftime.

But the Tigers opened the second half with four goals in a little more than six minutes and began to pull away.

Jen Price led Huntingdon with three assists, three draw controls, nine ground balls and four caused turnovers. Briana Gress scored two goals and had two caused turnovers. Her first goal gave Huntingdon an early 1-0 lead and her second goal made it 7-4 late in the first half.

Carolyn Smith, Shannen O'Leary, Jade Paul and Lonnitria Keenan each scored one goal. O'Leary also had two assists and Paul had two caused turnovers. Mikalah Bowman also had two caused turnovers and Joi Iverson had five ground balls.

Goalie Katie Bianco recorded eight saves and allowed 19 goals.
