Women’s lacrosse falls to Sewanee

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team lost 16-2 to Sewanee on Sunday.

Sewanee (2-0) opened the game with seven goals in the first 11 minutes and took an 11-1 lead into halftime.

Freshman Maddy Morrison scored an unassisted goal at the 15:15 mark in the first-half to put the Lady Hawks (0-2) on the board.

The Tigers added five goals in the second-half while Carolyn Smith scored Huntingdon's lone goal of the half with an assist from Mikalah Bowman.

Morrison, Bowman, Joey Lopez and Chassity Page each had two ground balls. Bowman finished with two draw controls.

Alyssa Alvarado recorded three saves and had four ground balls.

Huntingdon hosts Oglethorpe on February 27 at 6 p.m. at Samford Stadium.
