Pfeiffer’s second-half surge too much for Lady Hawks

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team lost 16-3 to Division II opponent Pfeiffer University on Sunday.

Huntingdon drops to 0-5 on the season as the Falcons improve to 4-1.

Pfeiffer set the tone early in Sunday's game, scoring four goals in the opening five minutes. Jade Paul scored a pair of goals to end the Falcons run and pull Huntingdon within two.

The Falcons added one goal in the first-half before Paul scored the Lady Hawks final goal with 7:55 remaining in the half.

Pfeiffer shut the Lady Hawks out in the second-half and scored 11 goals to close out the half.

Paul scored all three Huntingdon goals. Sarah Brooks added one assist. Goalie Alyssa Alvarado recorded 10 saves and had five ground balls while letting up 16 goals.

Huntingdon returns to action on Thursday as Birmingham-Southern makes the trip to Montgomery. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
