MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team battled hard against Framingham State on Thursday, but lost 12-3.

The Lady Hawks (1-7) trailed 4-2 at halftime, but allowed eight goals in the second-half as the Rams improved to 5-0 on the season.

The Rams opened the game with a pair of goals and held a 2-0 lead early in the first-half. Jade Paul put Huntingdon on the board after a free position shot, but the Rams responded just under 10 minutes later to pull ahead 3-1.

Carolyn Smith found Paul for her second goal of the game before Framingham State scored a man-down goal to head into halftime leading 4-2.

The Rams opened the second-half with seven straight goals in the first 23 minutes to put the game away. Alexa Murray scored for Huntingdon with seven minutes remaining, but the deficit was too much.

Paul scored two goals and finished with three draw controls. Murray scored once while Smith had one assist.

Joey Lopez caused three turnovers, while goalie Alyssa Alvarado recorded five saves and had four ground balls.

Huntingdon opens USA South Athletic Conference play on Wednesday as the Lady Hawks travel to Piedmont for a 6 p.m. matchup.
