Women’s lacrosse ranked 8th in USA South preseason poll

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team is ranked eighth in the USA South Athletic Conference preseason poll released on Wednesday. 

Huntingdon totaled 37 points in the poll. Five-time defending conference tournament champion Meredith is the preseason favorite with 11 first-place votes and 121 points.

Piedmont is second with one first-place vote and 107 points, Pfeiffer is third with 95 points, Methodist is fourth with 92 points, Greensboro is fifth with 79 points, Averett is sixth with 78 points and Brevard is seventh with 60 points.

Behind Huntingdon, William Peace is ninth with 35 points, LaGrange is 10th with 32 points, Salem is 11th with 29 points and North Carolina Wesleyan is 12th with 27 points.

Huntingdon opens the season on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the University of Dallas.
