Lady Hawks fall behind early in loss to Hendrix

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team fell behind in the first half and lost to Hendrix College 17-8 on Thursday.                                         

The Lady Hawks scored the first goal of the game but Hendrix answered with six straight goals in a 13-minute span and built an 11-2 lead at halftime.

Shelby Martin and Kaylee Andrews each scored three goals for Huntingdon and Vanessa Maldonado and Olivia Stinson each scored one goal. Martin also had five draw controls, Andrews had an assist and three draw controls and Keirstin Cramer had two assists.

Stinson, Peyton Dean, Sam Blount and Anita Rhodes each had three ground balls and Savannah Ryan had two draw controls.

Goalie Morgan Coppini had 10 saves, 17 goals allowed and six ground balls in 60 minutes.
