Huntingdon comes up short against Greensboro

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team led for most of the game but came up short in a 16-14 loss to Greensboro College on Saturday. 

Huntingdon took the lead less than four minutes into the game and did not trail until the final 11 minutes of the game. Huntingdon answered and carried a 13-12 lead into the final four minutes. But Greensboro scored four goals in the final 3:32 to hold off the Lady Hawks.

Vanessa Maldonado scored four goals for Huntingdon and Kaylee Andrews and Shelby Blair each scored three goals and had an assist. Andrews had three draw controls and Blair had two draw controls.

Shelby Martin added two goals, seven draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers, Sam Blount had one goal, one assist and four ground balls and Olivia Stinson scored one goal.

Savannah Ryan had five draw controls and three ground balls and Elena Guy had two caused turnovers.

Goalie Morgan Coppini had nine saves, 16 goals allowed and four ground balls in 60 minutes.
