Lady Hawks score late to get by Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Keirstin Cramer scored in the final three minutes to help the Huntingdon women's lacrosse team beat Salem College 12-11 on Sunday.

Cramer's goal with 2:40 to play capped a game in which neither team ever led by more than two goals.

Huntingdon took its first lead of the game when Kaylee Andrews scored on an assist from Savannah Ryan with 17:32 to play in the first half. Andrews scored four goals in the first half and Ryan, Shelby Martin and Vanessa Maldonado each scored one goal in the opening half to give Huntingdon a 7-5 lead at halftime. 

The Lady Hawks led for the first 23 minutes of the second half before Salem tied the game 10-10 with 6:48 to play. A goal by Martin put Huntingdon in front 11-10 with 5:23 remaining before Salem again tied the game and set up Cramer's game-winning goal.

Andrews finished with four goals, an assist and three draw controls and Martin had three goals and two draw controls. Ryan recorded two goals, two assists, seven ground balls and two draw controls and Shelby Blair had a goal and an assist. Cramer and Maldonado each scored one goal and Olivia Stinson had one assist.

Goalie Morgan Coppini finished with 14 saves and 11 goals allowed in 60 minutes.
