LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team played Covenant to a scoreless tie for almost 79 minutes on Saturday.
But the Scots used a Dana Streufert goal with 11:09 left to play to beat Huntingdon 1-0.
Keeper Jenny Burnash recorded 18 saves for Huntingdon. Jaden Rountree and Jessica Salinas each took one shot for the Hawks (6-9-1).
"We only had 12 players on our bench today, but each of those girls gave us 100-percent," Huntingdon coach Wes Anania said. "Even though we lost, we proved that we can fight through adversity and give ourselves a chance to win. The effort of these girls, and their willingness to give us everything they had, kept us in the game until the end. As a coach, that's all I can ask for."
