MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team dropped its season opener on Saturday to Millsaps in a 2-0 decision at the Huntingdon soccer field.
The teams entered the half tied but Millsaps (1-0) took advantage of two second-half goals to seal the win.
Taylor Winslow picked up both goals for the Majors, who as a team took 17 shots to the Lady Hawks' four. Freshman Clara Tapplin took two shots on goal for Huntingdon (0-1).
Josie Byard started in goal for Huntingdon and played all 90 minutes and was credited with 11 saves.
The Lady Hawks return to action on Tuesday at home against Judson at 4 p.m.
